Fahrzeugbeschreibung
For sale is my spectacular, matching numbers, 1963 Jaguar XKE Series I 3.8 Liter Roadster, a veritable piece of history. The car still has the original black California license plates, and comes with clear CA title. It was ordered new in February of 1963 by Corcoran Motor Sales Co. Inc. of Wesley, Massachusetts, the Central Eastern Massachusetts regional authorized Jaguar Agency at the time. The car was ordered in the traditional colors of Old English White with contrasting and complementing Connolly Red Leather Interior with a black soft top. I have purchased the Jag in 2004 from the original owner in Massachusetts, with the odometer reading only just over 28,000 original miles.
Just like the first owner, I have followed the original owner"s handbook instructions on maintenance, service and most importantly the cosmetic care of this Jaguar religiously over the years. Each Fall, I serviced the car and then placed it in my garage on jack stands with the suspension unloaded and the wheels off the ground. I placed desiccant and moth-balls on the carpets, in the trunk and under the bonnet. For the engine, transmission and gearbox, I added marvel mystery oil treatment and in the fuel tank, I added 1/2 gallon of dry gas fuel stabilizer and in the radiator a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and water soluble oil to further preserve my treasured Jaguar. At the end of each Spring, usually in late April, early May, I would un-pickle my Roadster and again perform full services and then strictly in accordance with the owner"s manual, follow to the letter the prescribed cleaning and washing procedures.
The care, effort and attention that Martin, the first owner and I lavished on this Jaguar Roadster can not be over emphasized. As a result of this care and the fact that the car was always kept in a climate controlled environment with no exposure to UV light while in storage, the car has been preserved to a level rarely encountered. Make no mistake, this is no hanger queen, On the contrary, this Jaguar operates, performs and functions as if it had been fully restored just yesterday!
Today, this E-Type has covered just 29,053 original, warranted and fully documented miles from new. One is easily fooled that this is a fully restored vehicle and not the day one original time-warp example that it actually is. The only reason I have decided to sell is due to a health issue I had earlier this year that prevents me from enjoying my classy lady.
This is undoubtedly one of the rarest and most carefully preserved E-Types left in existence. It would be a very poor choice for the average casual Jaguar E-Type enthusiast. It is an example strictly destined for a custodian and caretaker who will both enjoy and continue to ensure that this vehicle remains both fully functional as well as carefully conserved and preserved always.
Please ask all questions before bidding. Full payment is due in 3 days, bank wire and cash only. Shipping is buyer"s responsibility and not included in the auction price, but I will do my best and assist with the arrangements and formalities if needed. Thank you.
