Fahrzeugbeschreibung

The old Lancias are very good, excellent craftsmanship and innovative engineering solutions taken to another level for the seventies. This is a Pre-Fiat Lancia and everyone knows they are in a class of their own. Very few cars are engineered or built as a pre-Fiat Lancia and probably this is the main reason why this once great company was hit with financial hurdles years later.........they just couldn"t under achieve. Small displacement engine, low weight, disk brakes on all corners to help stopping the little beast, it was a great car for its day and it has been appreciated by the automotive publications back then precision motor car or an tour de force for engineering.
The HF has been the highest performing and the most desirable of the entire model range, the car had a huge level of success in a lot of competitions, perhaps part of it was the 5 speed transmission which has been introduced in 1969. This car has been imported from Italy in 2000. The car participated in a lot of  competitions for classic cars and also has the Automobile Club d"Italia papers.
The car has been prepared for competition use and has purposeful rally car cosmetics. The paintwork is glossy, but shows numerous blemishes from its event use. The car has minimal corrosion, with some bubbling on the fenders behind the front wheels, a few small bubbles in the driver’s door skin, and a few superficial bubbles at one corner of the rear windscreen. The lights and glass are very good to excellent, including the Carello headlamps and Hella auxiliary lamps.
The interior has a similarly purposeful feel with rubber mats (which appears to be the same Pirelli diamond pattern material used on 1950s Italian cars such as the Siata 208S and various Ferraris), harnesses, and roll cage. The car has comfortable and supportive bucket seats. The door panels have not been modified and are in very nice shape. The dashboard is in good shape although there are Velcro adhesives added for rally equipment plus some auxiliary instrumentation. The factory gauges are in place as well, as is the factory center console. A rally type Momo steering wheel has been fitted relatively recently as well. The headliner has been taped in places and the general aesthetic is purposeful and competition-oriented but not completely stripped as a full on race car would be.
The engine compartment has a functional appearance, with 40 DCOE Webers and some electrical and functional updates. The body color inner panels are in nice shape while the engine itself shows some soiling and aging from use. The trunk presents similarly with full sized spare, partial carpet set, and extra fuel tank to increase the car’s range. The undercarriage is fundamentally solid although there is some surface rust due to the car’s use in inclement weather.
The car is a pleasure to drive. The engine starts easily and has an eager, spirited feel punctuated by the unmistakable Weber induction noise. The car pulls smartly through the gears, which are tightly stacked except for 5th, which allows for sensible highway cruising but swift acceleration otherwise. Since arrival,
2nd gear has become non operational and will require internal transmission work to correct. This has been taken into consideration with regards to pricing.
The synchromesh is excellent on all gears and the clutch is easy to modulate. The steering is direct and communicative, and the car’s chassis is both entertaining and capable. The brakes are effective although somewhat lacking in initial bite. The engine had a recent compression test and all fluids were changed.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an event ready Fulvia HF with plenty of character and a high level of preparation. Extensively campaigned in Europe, the car runs and drives well and would make an ideal event car or an entertaining driver. It comes with many photos of the car participating in events.
